Pix by Pete is
owned and operated by Peter Walker, a native of
Sydney, Australia, but now resident in Brisbane.
Peter took his first photograph
at the tender age of
two on a Kodak Box Brownie
camera. At age 13 he purchased
his first camera and has been behind the lens
ever since.
Inspired by photographers and artists
such as David Moore, Damien Parer, Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Jeffrey
Smart and Salvador Dali, Peter sought a deeper
understanding of photography and studied at the
Brisbane College of Photography & Art exploring
the depths of black & white
and colour imagery.
Peter works in
both 35mm and digital format and explores many facets
of photography. Currently the Pix by Pete
catalogue reflects the rockabilly
and kustom (with a 'k')
car cultures and communities in Australia.
Peter's interests include music, art,
motor sports, aviation
and travelling. Treks through Nepal and India in
1999 led to Pete’s first exhibition of 20 images at the Brisbane College
of Photography & Art entitled “Portraits of the
East”.
Through his images Peter invites you to take a
journey into the way he sees the world.
